BillIn his own words:"What you believe, you become..." A lifelong practitioner of the arts, Bill Westfield was born to a theatrical family and began performing publicly at the age of 6. Becoming fluent with several musical instruments during his school years and, before graduating, had activity participated in several professional stage productions while also playing guitar and base for a popular full time recording act from central New York. Bill's first brush with the photographic arts took place in the early 80's when he purchased a his first 35mm camera to document his travels. So overtaken by this new form of expression, he started being drawn away from his music, and for economic reasons decided to end it's pursuit, living as a musician until his late 30's, when life led him into the art of software engineering. Now in 50's, Bill has been back in the photographic arts for the past 4 years, and is back with a passion. Recently retired, he now devotes full time to craft, and along with partner Barry Page, has been involved in many successful exhibitions in the Baltimore area.
Sadly my friend Bill lost his battle with cancer in April 2008. Hi friendship, humor, companionship on photoshoots, philosophical discussions on art, photography, music, science and numerous other subjects is sorely missed. Bill will always have a place in PhotogrphicPages! Barry |
